Suppose you’re wondering whether you should switch to all-natural soap and require some convincing. You have come to the right place. In this article, we will discuss the differences, benefits, and why you’ll never look back once you switch to natural soap.

Natural soap is better for your skin and the environment because they contain only natural ingredients. They don’t use any harmful chemicals or artificial fragrances to make them smell good like other soaps do, and they are biodegradable.

There are plenty of soaps out there that claim to be natural or organic, but they’re still full of harsh chemicals that can strip away the moisture in your skin and cause irritation or, even worse – rashes! And if you’ve ever used soap with added moisturizers, then you know how quickly your hands get greasy after washing them. Let’s be honest. It’s not pleasant at all.

What Is Natural Soap, And What Makes It Different From Regular Soap?

Natural Soaps:

When one says all-natural soap, it usually means that it’s made with all-natural botanical oils such as olive oil, coconut oil, palm, and jojoba oil. So that means no harmful chemicals or preservatives are used. This is also why they are known to be more gentle on your skin too.

But the quality of natural soap goes beyond just being “safe” to use – they also smell better! While most (if not all) synthetic soaps have a chemically derived scent, natural soaps often smell like flowers or herbs.

Plus, you’ll find that they last longer than regular soap because they don’t contain any artificial additives that can make them go bad quickly. Natural soap is an eco-friendly option that will leave you feeling clean and refreshed while protecting your health at the same time.

The FDA now recognizes these soaps as being actual “soap” and not water, oil, or other substances masquerading in their place. This means it cleans your body much better than mass-produced products because all those nasty chemicals are out for good!

Commercial soaps:

You’reYou’re at your local supermarket for a new soap. You have an endless list of options that all sound appealing: body washes, cleansing bars, skincare bars… The truth is they are nothing more than detergents with fancy packaging. The soap you buy today is not natural. It doesn’t even really work as a soap.

If you’ve ever looked closely at the ingredients list of bar soap, it’s probably pretty long and scary. Commercial soaps are mostly made out of sulfates that can be very harsh to your skin – or in many cases where Glycerin is removed for use on other products like body lotions.

Benefits Of Using Natural Soap Over Regular Soap.

We already mentioned one or two benefits earlier, and there are many more. But the real value natural soap brings lies within its benefits to our health. We’llWe’ll get into the details of the article, but let’s also see what other benefits natural soap brings to the table.

Natural Soaps Are Moisturizing

We previously talked about how commercial soaps are made—knowing that harsh chemicals are used to produce these products, it’s easy to say that these products are far from moisturizing. Natural soaps, on the other hand, are actually really moisturizing. And there are 3 main reasons for that.

  1. Let’sLet’s start with the easy and obvious one. Natural soaps are made with natural ingredients. This means they do not contain any synthetic ingredients, detergents, or synthetic preservatives. So as it is with food, the quality of ingredients you’re using in your recipe can dictate how good something tastes. And the same can be said with natural soaps. The better the ingredients, the better the end products will be.
  1. The second big reason is superfatting. If you have never heard of the term superfatting, you can find all the info you need in this article. But the short version is, you basically use extra fat on your soap. These fats can be oils or butter. You usually add excess fat to ensure that the Lye within the soap mixture has entirely saponified. Or when you want your soap to be extra moisturizing. The one drawback of this technique? It may shorten the shelf-life of your soap, but it’s not something to worry about.
  1. The third and last reason is Glycerin. Since Glycerin is a humectant that draws moisture from the air to your skin, it will leave it feeling moisturized. But we are not referring to the Glycerin you can buy at your local supermarket but at the one that naturally occurs when making handmade soaps. As mentioned earlier, commercial soaps have their Glycerin removed. Because of this, the one thing that makes your soap moisturizing has been removed, leaving only the harsh chemicals behind, which causes skin irritation or even burns

Natural Soaps retain their natural Glycerin.

There are soap makers who would tell you to add extra Glycerin, which I personally wouldn’t do. Why? Because handmade soaps retain their natural Glycerin. So why would you add Glycerin? To make it more moisturizing? I am sorry to burst your bubble, but you’d run the risk of making your soap very soft and sticky. Also, glycerine is a humectant, and so it attracts water. You would not want your soap to sweat.

Scented Natural Soap Provides Real Aromatherapy

Scented natural handmade soaps are made with pure essential oils, not fragrance oils, and offer aromatherapeutic benefits. The essential oil has many different effects on the body that can help reduce stress to invigorate your spirit. Step into a bath or shower and breathe deeply for maximum impact.

If you see a commercial soap with the label Aromatherapy, then look again. No company can recreate the chemical composition of essential oils in a laboratory. So whatever they are using, it’s not essential botanical oils. So, therefore, it also cannot offer the same therapeutic advantages.

Organic Soap Provides Rich Lather Without Synthetic Boosters

Have you ever had soap that just doesn’t lather, no matter how much you use or rub on it? In fact, this mostly happens with handmade natural soaps. So, what does that mean? Is this a bad thing? Actually, the amount of lather a soap produces has nothing to do with its quality. Soap does not need to lather to do what it needs to do.

Why then does your commercial soap lather like you’re swimming in a cloud of bubbles? This simply means that these companies would do whatever is necessary to sell their soap, including adding synthetic surfactants, making the soap lather. But did you also know that these synthetic surfactants also make your skin dry?

Natural Soap Helps Maintain Healthy Skin

We have already mentioned a few points regarding how natural soap helps maintain healthy skin, and healthy skin matters most in the end, in my opinion.

Natural soap helps with dry skin. In some conditions, it even helps with psoriasis, acne, and eczema.

Some people think they have sensitive skin, while that’s not the case at all.

The reality is that their delicate, reactive skins are only reacting to some chemical irritant in the soap.

In case you have skin that irritates easily, and you can’t find any solution to your problem, try using natural handmade soap for a while; you’ll see what difference it will make.

Natural Soap is Economical

This is something a lot of people don’t know about. Making your soap is actually a lot cheaper than you may think. Of course, it would depend on what you make and what kind of recipe you use. But making a general soap is actually cheap. This is especially the case if you make it in large quantities and buy your ingredients in bulk. Now, you may argue that commercial soaps are cheaper, yes.

BUT! using commercials soaps that eventually dries or irritates your skin. That leads to you having to buy lotion to counter that effect, which, in the end, costs you more.

Natural Soap Has a Smaller Environmental Impact

We live in a time when more and more people are aware of their environment and its role. Well, natural soaps also positively impact the environment. Since everything is made with natural ingredients, all is fine, and the water washing down the drain will naturally break down. But the same thing cannot be said about commercial soaps.

All of these chemicals, many of which do not naturally break down, wash into your drains and take a toll on the environment. They end up in septic fields or water treatment facilities, where they pose risks to both human health and the surrounding ecosystem. Eventually, these chemicals affect wildlife and natural vegetation to flowers.

Natural Soaps are Unique

I think this is more of a personal preference, so you might disagree with me on this, but having a unique soap is something special. Someone (or yourself) who put years of experience and love into a bar of soap is very special and dear to me.

Commercial soaps? They are mass-produced, half of the population uses the same, so they totally fail at it when it comes to uniqueness.

Supporting Small Businesses

I know a lot of people who started at home and made it far with perseverance. And believe me, it takes a lot to make it in this industry.

Those small businesses actually are what makes this industry very interesting. They can be very creative, come up with a recipe combination that would really surprise you, but above all, they make in shapes. You sometimes have no idea that you’re looking at soaps. Now, you tell me, would you see this happening with big companies?

Natural Soaps Are Cruelty-Free and Animal-Friendly

We’ve all heard that organic products are better for the environment and more natural. But what does this mean? This is why we think it’s important to use organic soaps!

Natural soaps are made with ingredients that come from plants, vegetables, fruits, and other naturally occurring sources. These ingredients have been used for centuries as a way to cleanse the skin and keep it healthy. They’re also cruelty-free because they don’t contain animal byproducts or harsh chemicals like sulfates.

Organic soap is vegan and biodegradable too! If you want your skin to be cleaner without harming animals or the environment, then consider using an organic soap in your next shower!

Natural Soaps And Children

Infants have even more sensitive skin than adults, so using a certified organic soap with plant-based ingredients is the best option. It’s chemical-free and has no artificial fragrance or preservative that could irritate your child’s delicate skin. So make sure you use this type of soap to keep their beautiful complexion healthy and nourished for years to come.

The Benefits Of Using Natural Soap Over Liquid Body Wash Or Other Products

I used to wash with body wash for years and years. Until it was pointed out to me that in order to keep the formula bacteria-free, they need to use preservatives. Once I found out about that, I started searching for an alternative.

Ever since I started using natural soaps, my skin feels healthier and more moisturized than ever. Natural soap bars are made with ingredients like coconut oil, olive oil, shea butter, and essential oils that nourish your skin while cleaning it.

Plus, they don’t have the harsh chemicals found in other products like liquid body wash or laundry detergent, which can cause dryness and breakouts on your skin. If you’re wondering if there’s a difference between all these different types of soaps out there, try it out, and see it for yourself.

Natural Soaps Are Rich In Antioxidants

There is a good reason why organic soaps are more expensive than their traditional counterparts. They contain up to 90% more antioxidants than conventional soap. Antioxidants like vitamins A, C, and E help inhibit your skin’s oxidation process, which causes wrinkles and premature aging. With these benefits, it’s easy to see why you should switch over to organic soap.

Organic Soaps Have Natural Antibacterial Properties

Regular antibacterial soaps contain substances like triclosan, sulfates, parabens, and other toxic chemicals that could increase the risk of some cancers. These harmful ingredients are often found in products marketed as “antibacterial” or with a “freshness formula.” Organic soap products use natural antibacterials such as essential oils (like peppermint, lavender, eucalyptus, and lemongrass) to help keep hands clean without all those nasty side effects.

Where To Buy Natural Soap

You can buy natural soap almost anywhere, but I would especially look at local businesses as they tend to make everything by hand. When looking for organic handmade natural soap, you should look for cold process soap as it’s usually a smoother bar of soap.

Amazon is also a great place to buy organic soaps. A lot of small entrepreneurs use the platform to start to kick their businesses.

Conclusion

Give yourself a little bit of luxury in your life by switching to this all-natural soap today! It smells amazing and is gentle on your skin, making it perfect for sensitive types too. You won’t regret giving these soaps a try.
